Please tell me that I don't need a PC to be on in order to scan from the printer? That would be so asinine. It's capable of printing from Google Cloud Print without a computer needing to be on but it can't scan? What's the point of having a scan button on the printer if you need the PC up and running anyways? Might as well just click scan from the computer.
Every time I click "Scan" on the printer, it says "Setup PC to scan". What does that mean, and how can I make it go away and actually scan when I click "Scan"?

Hello.
The printer is only able to scan with a computer that is running a compatible version of Windows or Mac OSX. Also, you can scan from an Android or iOS mobile device with our "Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY" app. This app is available for free on the App Store (Apple) or Google Play Store (Android).
