imageCLASS MF4150 Problems on New Computer

Hello,

I switched my MF4150 to a new computer with Windows 11. Downloaded the drivers for the MF4150. I am unable to make the MF4150 my default printer which is due to the unit being in "Idle" status. The  Canon Toolbox software works fine and I am able to scan documents but am unable to print as the MF4150 is not my default printer.

Thank you for any help on this!

Hello Murrayjd2,

If the drivers were downloaded but the printer is not an option to select and only works as a scanner, it will usually mean there was an issue with the driver install or the printer driver has yet to be installed.

You can press the Windows key and the letter R key at the same time on your keyboard. In the run box that appears, you can type in devmgmt.msc and click OK. In the window that comes up, click on the option at the bottom for Universal Serial Bus controllers. If you see an option for USB printing support, you can right click on it and select uninstall. Once it is gone, you can disconnect the printer from your computer. If USB printing support is not there, you can just remove the cable connection.

You can turn off any security software running on the computer and then you can try downloading and installing the [Windows 64bit] imageCLASS MF4150 MFDrivers (UFR II / FAX / ScanGear) from our support site and trying the install again. once the USB cable connection window appears in the setup, you can reconnect the printer to the computer.

If you are still unable to print, I would suggest contacting our support team at 1-800-652-2666. Our agents would be happy to assist.

Hello,

You can set a printer as the default from the control panel on your computer. You can press the Windows key and the letter R key at the same time on your keyboard. In the run box that appears, you can type in control printers and click OK. In the window that comes up, you can right click on the printer and then select the option to set the printer as the default.

Once the printer has been set as the default, you can try printing again to see if it works. If you continue to have issues, we would be happy to assist. Please let know if you get any specific error codes when you try to print or if you have any problems selecting the printer in the program that you are printing from.

I also moved my mf4150 to a new laptop, downloaded drivers and tool box, but when i go to add device, it can't find my printer. I aam also on windows 11

I have the same issue. Trying to install my MF4150 to Windows 11. It keeps saying the drivers aren't supported. Does this mean I'm going to have to buy a new printer?  I mean, I know it's an old printer, but  it still works fine. Seems silly to throw it away when it was obviously built to last, unlike many items these days.

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The imageCLASS MF4150 is an older model which we have retired. While your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions, Canon USA no longer offers technical support or software development for this model.

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!

Hi Danny, I have the same Canon ImageClass MF4150 - are there drivers available for Windows 11? I only see the toolbox and firmware on the website.

We ended software development for the imageCLASS MF4150 at the end of 2015, so we're unable to ensure compatibility with OSes that came out after that year.
