MAXIFY GX1020 feeder tray guides can't be made snug against #10 envelope

I have a new Maxify GX1020 printer. I've been testing the printing of #10 envelopes. The user manual shows the tray guides being snug against the envelope. The rear edge guide can't be made snug resulting in the envelopes failing to feed. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you

You adjust the front the side guides in, so the envelopes contact the rear "protrusion" "D".

Thanks for the reply but that's what was in my original post. The rear slide does not tighten against a #10 envelope on the back (short side). The result is constant jams.

That's correct.  It's a protrusion that acts as a ramp.  The front and side guides is what hold the envelopes in place.  Then the pick up rollers feed the short end up into the printer.  The (envelopes) flap side is up in the tray, but gets flipped over once it's fed and is printed on.  Are you not able to get the front slider to come forward enough to hold the envelopes far enough back in the tray?

Thank you for the reply...
"Are you not able to get the front slider to come forward enough to hold the envelopes far enough back in the tray?"
The slider can be moved to gently touch the envelopes. There is no detent in that position.

I loaded envelopes and printed. The first message was:
"The following paper is not loaded in the cassette" and it goes on to identify "Envelope Com 10". The side slides where gently touching the envelopes. The front slide was touching the envelopes though because there is no detent, it likely moved when I pushed the feed tray in.

I chose the "Next" option which generated "Select what to do from the following". I chose "Print with the loaded paper".  The test of printing 10 envelopes fed flawlessly.

What am I doing wrong that triggers these error messages? From the application I am printing from, I also chose "Envelope Com 10". Why should it be necessary to leave my computer to get past these error messages when I'm doing all that the manual instructs?

Thank you again for the reponse.
