Canon iR-ADV C2225 Error 753 when scanning to email

I have multiple users who, when scanning to email, receive failed messages stating Error 753, which indicates that there may be a cable unplugged.

 

In this vein of troubleshooting, I have checked the ethernet cables coming from the printer and have rebooted per the instructions I found when researching the error.  However, this hasn't fixed anything for my users.  We do not have LDAP setup and email addresses are either manually entered in or chosen from an address book that was manually entered.  I have verified that the user is sending to a valid email address.  There does not seem to be a common thread between the scans, each of them varying in size and page length. 

 

Does anybody have any ideas of where I can look?  Restarting the printer didn't fix the issue and making sure the cable is plugged in didn't seem to do anything.  I went looking in the settings on the admin side of the printer, but didn't see anything related to this issue.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!
