Canon MF 733 CDW - can't get error message on fax because color cartridge is low

Worse thing.  Can't get anyone from technical support because the voice promp keeps cutting me off and saying they didn't get the model number.  So you give your model number.  Then it cuts you off before you give your model number and says they didn't get it.  Then it hangs up on you because you didn't give your model number.  Awful.

Four times calling in.  On the 4th time, they give you a live person (the operator).  They must recognize my number.  Nice lady.  Then she transfers me to another queue where I select my printer.  Now my hold time is going to be over an hour.  This is like trying to call the airlines. Holy crap.

So here I am and here's my problem.  My toner for the color cartriges is low.  My black ink is fine.  I can still  print with the printer.   Just get the warning at the beginning and print.  Problem is I can't see the transmission results with fax.  I think it's an error because of the audio response.  Solid beep if it went through.  Weird alarm like sound if it doesn't.  It won't print the error because it says the cartridge is low.

Is there a way to disable the low toner error.  Is there a way to disable the color feature? Is there a wayt see the error instead of having to print it?

Thanks for anyone who could shed light on this printer and it's freaky fax functions.

Hello,

You can adjust the fax setting to allow the faxes to print when the toner is low. You can adjust the setting using the steps in the link HERE.
