Can't get my MF8380 to scan to email

Hi all,

 

I've read so many posts on this I'm not sure there's hope.  :-(

 

I have a Canon MF8380.  I'm WIRED on my network with DHCP off and a static IP.  I can print both wired and wirelessly through my network.  

 

When I attempt to scan and email, I get a report of Error - but nothing is clear as to what the issue is. 

 

My email in the address book is accurate - no matter which address book record I choose, I get an error.  

 

My settings: 

 

SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com

Email addie:  xxxx@gmail.com (my email address)

Use POP:  turned off

Use SMTP (checked)

Username:  xxxx@gmail.com (my email address)

Password: my password

 

Now, my password has special characters in it (like the Exclamation point) but I can't imagine that's causing issues.  

 

My ports:

 

SMTP: 587

 

I've power cycled several times and after every change.  So frustrating!

 

Any ideas?
