Hi nvenktesh,

To best determine what may be occurring, please let us know the model of the printer you are using.  This will ensure the most accurate information is provided.  Thanks so much, and we look forward to hearing back from you!

Hi Jason,

We have a canon color imageclass MF8450 c multifunction machine. Thanks

Thank you nvenktesh,

Your paper, toner cartridge or the need to clean an internal unit can factor into the issue.  Please first ensure that supported paper is being used: Paper drawer/16 to 32 lb (60 to 120 g/m2); Stack Bypass Tray/ 16 to 47 lb (60 to 176 g/m2).  Note:  Highly textured, very smooth or shiny paper do not print well.

If print or image quality is affected, and when replacing your Canon toner cartridge, cleaning the Fixing Assembly is very useful.  Visit the link and select the article "Cleaning the Machine" for details on cleaning the assembly.

Link does not work.

This is an 11 year old thread, our website has changed since then. Additionally, the imageCLASS MF8450c is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!
