Trying to figure which Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 I should buy ?

I can get the II for about $60 and the STM for $80 (both used).

 

What is the downside to the II compared to the STM ?

This is the part that I do not understand.  If the two lenses are “optically identical”, then why do specifications differ so widely?  With the same optics, shouldn’t the last four specifications be at least close to being similar?
