Someone has to be able to help with this antique Canon R-set 300mm

LArifleMAN

I have found next to zero information on this particular lens. The 400mm version is currently on ebay, but I haven't seen any other examples of the 300. Add to that the portion that attaches the bellows to the mount is missing. I mean, I only paid $40 for this behemoth but I'd still like to clean it and try it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Roger, that's about all I've really found.

Pacific Rim Camera has some information in PDF form about the Canon Canonflex RM camera and it's R mount lenses.

It looks like you are missing the "Lens Intermediate Tube" and the thumb screw to clamp it to the Lens Supporter.

Yes alright! Now that's some information I hadn't seen. Now I just need to find "intermediate tube R" I can imagine that's probably a needle in a haystack.

Thanks a bunch Mike.

It looks like you have the critical pieces because all bellows R has to do is block the light without getting into the optical path, the complex mechanical parts are there and bellows R was probably discarded earlier due to damage.  I suspect you could pretty easily fabricate that piece out of a variety of materials if you are determined to use this lens.

Oh I am determined. It may end up having terrible IQ but at least I tried.
