Canon T50 body with Orion lens

Hi everyone,

I am complete rookie regarding cameras and lenses altogether.

I stumbled across this camera which I thought is sexy looking and I bought it without thinking. Now that I have it, I am not quite sure if the lens is compatible with the body of the camera.

Lens is Super Orion Zoom MACRO 1:4.5 t=85  210mm, and body is ofcourse T50.

I hope that someone out there will help me with this.

Cheers!

The lens must have an FD mount in order to be compatible with the Canon T50.  Do you know what kind of mount is on your lens?

Take a look at his photo of an FD mount to see if it looks like yours.

That definitely looks like the FD mount, and it should work with your Canon T50 camera.

It should work.  If memory serves me, the Orion was a very cheap lens for film cameras. I don't think they are still in business but maybe they are. It is totally manual. You have to set everything yourself.

You do know the T50 is a film camera?  It was discontinued around 1990.

EOS 1DX and 1D Mk IV and less lenses then before!

Hey, thanks for the info. I am not quite sure what do you mean by 'film camera'?!

A camera that requires film to take an image, specifically, 35mm film cartridges like this:

And you have to send them out for chemical processing before you can see your images.

Oh, I was aware of that. I am not that young. Hahah

But hey, thanks for supplying me with infos.

Cheers!
