what do the fractions in the printer profiles mean in photoshop??

i cant for the life of me figur out why there is 2 different profiles for each type of paper in photoshop with a different fractional number beside them? what are they??? HELP!!Sketch.png

They are the quality settings associated with those profiles - i.e if you are using quality setting 1 or 2 choose a profile that shows 1/2.

I'm confused.... so what are the quality settings exactly located at than? The higher the number the better the quality?

When you go to print you can select the quality settings in the printer driver.

Don’t feel bad.  I have been sending my stuff out to labs for years.  I finally bought an inkjet last year and had the very same question.  

 

If you print on highest quality, it applies a different amount of ink, so it needs a slightly different ICC profile than if you print on the lower qualities.
