It’s clear that, after the theoretical upcoming launch of the R6 iii, we will see Canon discontinuing sales of the mark 2. Obviously we won’t know until Canon makes the call, but based on past releases, how soon can we expect this to happen? As someone that’s been eyeing the refurbished R6ii bodies on the website, I’d hate to see the announcement roll out and miss my chance to buy one.
Does Canon tend to immediately discontinue older models after a new release, or do they tend to phase them out?

Greetings ,
Older models tend to get phased out.
The camera is already on sale for $1799 refurbished. That's a great price!.

Typically the Canon factory switches from the old model to the new one, and therefore the supply from the factory stops. How long the old model continues will depend on the inventory in the supply chain between factory and store.
