I have the GP-E2 on a 7D and it doesn't provide a GPS fix with every shot. It seems to skip the first shot as if it has to be awakened. Any suggestions?

thx, lyle

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't think it's a "sleep" or power up related issue. For example, if I am out shooting photos in the woods I just leave the camera powered up and if I am going to take a photo it usually takes a few seconds to press the shoot button, wait for auto focus, adjust exposure and zoom so you would think it's active. I will try waiting longer to see if its a time probloem with the GPS to camera interface. I have discussed the problem with Canon tech support and they hadn't heard of the problem so I wonder if I have a problem with the unit.

Thanks,

lyle
