GP-E2 GPS receiver stopped working

Worked fine previously. Now unit does not stay on. When switched on, power light gives one long flash, gps light gives 3 short flashes, then nothing. No lights, camera doesn't see unit in hot shoe and computer doesn't see unit on USB.

Sounds like the flashes might be an error code.  What does the User Manual say about it?  Is it able to receive a signal?

I don't think the flashes are an error code. I seem to recall that it has always flashed like that at power up. The battery light should flash slowly and the gps light should flash every 3 seconds when it has a lock. There is no reference in the manual to any POST flashing or anything other than normal operation.

It might mean low battery.

Mine is doing this with a full battery.

It's been almost a year and a half. Did you ever contact Canon?
