Replacement batteries - OEM or off brand?LPE6 or LPE6N??

I only use Canon batteries.  LP-E6 and LP-E6N are both forwards and backwards compatible, so you could get either.

 

For myself, I went with the LP-E6N when needing extra batteries; they have a slightly higher capacity.

I saw a couple of bad reviews for the LP-E6N batteries. That is why I am asking.

Someone probably bought some counterfeit batteries from somewhere.  The LP-E6N batteries are fine.

Stick with the Canon batteries. They'll probably outlast their Brand X equivalents by enough to make up for their higher price.

You mean between the LPE6 and the LPE6N? The LPE6N is a later model with a bit more capacity. Otherwise they're functionally identical.
