Here is a short video from Canon USA about how the IBIS in the camera works with IS in lenses.  The IBIS is coordinated with any IS in RF series lenses.  However, IBIS is not as coordinated with adapted EF/EF-S lens, and enters a different mode.

Somewhere around the 25:00 mark in the video, Canon says the image sensor in the R6 is the same as the 1D Mark III, plus it has IBIS.  I conclude that we may not see any more new DSLRs from Canon.  The R6 is the hobbyist's dream machine.

So I guess the question is, is the R5 sufficient as a replacement for the 1D Mark III? Much as Ernie Biggs and I like to rib each other over what constitutes a "professional grade" camera, I will readily concede that the heavy, expensive, but virtually indestructible 1D series does have its place.

According to the Canon USA video, the image sensor in the R6 is the same sensor as the 1Dx Mark III.  This announcement is made around the 2:45 mark.  It also uses the same DIGIC X processor, and has a base ISO range of 100-102,800.
