Re: 8 mp full sensor vs 24 mp on T6i sensor

I'm not sure on their age, but at least as old as the EOS ds. They all have auto focus, which works well, and stabilizing. I can check for models when I get home.

OK, if they are EF lenses, give then a try.  You might be surprised at how well they do. I still use a Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens on my 1D MK IIn.  In fact it lives there.

EOS 1DX and 1D Mk IV, even less and less other stuff.

I don't recall the 28-135 (which is indeed a very good lens) as being all that old. It was the kit lens on my 50D, and I believe the camera and the lens were released at about the sme time in 2008. The 28-135 replaced the EF 28-105, which was still current when I bought my XTi in 2006.

I don't know when the 50D was out since I never had one but the Canon EF 28–135 f/3.5–5.6 IS USM came out around year 2000.  My Mk IIn was about 2005 and the lens was already out.  It may go back to film days, I don't remember.
