Tripod ring mount needed for EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM lens

I have a canon 70-200 EF 2.8 USM lens, version I with no IS, and I need to get a tripod mount ring for it.  What version of the mount fits that lens?

It should have come with one. It did not? I suspect a Canon brand will be very expensive so tighten your seatbelt. I believe the lens has been discontinued too, so Canon is no longer making the ring tripod mount. That means finding NOS or used.

Correct.  What I need to know is what ring will fit it.  Thanks for your input.

It did not.  I purchased it used...the only way I could afford an L lens at this time.  I was just wondering what model of ring would work so that I don't buy one only to find that it doesn't fit.  Thanks for your input.

Thanks.  That looks perfect.

That seems like a deal and if you get it from Amazon if it doesn't happen to fit you can return it.

Good point.  Thanks again for your help.  It has been very beneficial.

I would try to find a used genuine Canon Tripod Mount Ring B (W). Compared to most 3rd party items, they will be made better, fit better, and won’t scratch your lens body. There is a bunch of them for sale on ebay right now for as little as $60 USD.
