is really the 6d a substitute of the 7d? 7d will be discontinued?

Re: is really the 6d a substitute of the 7d? 7d will be discontinued?

No way. The 7d and the 6d are very different animals. The 5d3 is closer to the 7d than the 6d. *keep in mind, the firmware update on the 7d made it basically a 7d2 anyway Smiley Wink *

I would even venture to say that as highly anticipated as the 5d3 was, a real 7d2 would be highly anticipated (not to the extreme as the 5d3 was of course, but very high).

Rumor sites suggest the 70d will go more upscale than the 60d was/is, meaning its possible a 70d could combine the 7d/xxd line, then the 7d could disappear. I think Canon would really mess up if they ignored the large 7d crowd who want fast AF and high fps in something that costs a LOT less than a 1dx though.

This is all just speculation of course Smiley Happy

I agree that the 6D doesn't replace the 7D. They have different features and capabilities geared toward a different level/sophistication of photographer.
