I'm a freelance photographer and recently I'm working on timelapse and hyperlapse photography projects with my Canon 6D. Also I'm highly interested in software engineering, so I wonder if it is possible to use EOS Remote application for timelapses?

The version that I have doesn’t have an intervalometer, but I suppose that Canon could have updated it since.  But lets face it, there’s no reason why every dSLR doesn’t have an intervalometer built in, other than camera manufactures want to sell add on units.

But the guys at DSLR Controller have one built into their app, and I just checked and it looks like they added WiFi connectivity to the 6D in the latest release.  I can’t say I’ve tried it yet with my 6D, but those guys make a pretty solid app.

Note: The program that comes with the camera can do some basic time lapse work, but you have to tether to your laptop.
