Remote triggering of 700D by 580ExII Flash

Yosef
Apprentice

In the Canon "Your Guide to Better Photos Flash Classroom: I read how the flash can be fired to release the camera's shutter.

I have an EOS 700D and 580 EXII Speedlite but I can't manage it. Is it possible with this combination and if so, how?

Thanks, Yosef

Yes, based on my reading it is not possible with the equipment you have.

As others mentioned, the 580EXII is not capable of doing that (Linked Shot mode).  I believe only the 600EX-RT (I or II) and the 430EXIII can do this.

John,

Thanks for your references appear to be equipment specific and different from mine. I could not relate the referenced instructions to my equipment of 580EXII (without other trigger).

The 320EX will do it, too.

Thanks Diverhanks!
