Question on live

Gentlemen/Mdm.:

I purchased a used a EOS rebel TI 400 D camera
I did not know that the LCD screen did not display live view
I am disabled and use a tongue switch, which is only accessible for certain models
I did not know that the model I purchased was not accessible because of the live view

I can do a download for the camera to change this feature?
I do not want to have to purchase the new camera.

Can you help?

You can’t add that capability to your camera. Maybe you could contact Canon and see if they have a program to assist differently abled persons.

Your only hope is to get a windows touch computer like the Microsoft surface and see if you can get EOS Utility 2.4 running on it, possibly in a windows 7 virtual box. This will connect to the camera and allow you to shoot remotely:

Note: This will NOT allow you to preview the image - the 400D cannot take images in anything approaching live view - but it will allow you to shoot remotely, make adjustments, and shoot again.
