Hi everyone

I have a problem with my lense on my 600d.

When I try to focus from 35 to try and move round to 18-24 the lens seems to stick and won’t move so basically stuck between 35 and 24.

I don’t want to force it as I don’t want to break it.

Cheers

If it is the kit 18-55mm zoom, try this......

Take the lens off of your camera.

Put the lens in MF mode.

Twist the FOCUS ring (the tip of the lens) all the way to one side (extend it). You may hear a click noise or two, this is good, but don't FORCE the lens.

Twist the FOCUS ring all the way to the opposite side (retract it). Again, you may hear a couple of clicking noises. What we hope is happening is the focusing motor being put back into its proper place.

Put the lens back on the camera.

Put the lens in AF mode.

Turn the camera on.

Put the camera in AUTO or P mode.

Test the lens.

EOS 1DX and 1D Mk IV and less lenses then before!

Follow Ernie Biggs's advice. But keep in mind that what probably caused your problem in the first place is trying to focus the lens manually while it was set to AF mode. Some lens models can tolerate that treatment; the 18-55 kit lens can't.
