I have this problem on an EOS R but only when a Laowa 100mm 2x macro (auto aperture) is left attached. The battery flattens in a few days to point the camera will not switch on, degrading the battery.  I have not sorted whether it is the lens, camera or the way the are communicating which is the problem.

Sir,

It is Laowa 100mm Canon problem NOT your camera problem

I have 100% exactly same issue

I use Laowa 100mm canon on my 5D mk3

It drain a fully charged battery from 100 to 0 in 3 days

(  camera is POWER OFF )

Laowa still cannot tell me how to solve this problem..

If you have any update from Laowa USA, please let me know

Thanks!

My 2c

- Canon R is very power hungry, 150 photos, with a bit of fiddling around, will do that.

- the top screen can be turned off as well ( when the dial is OFF ) - I decided to keep it on

- if you have a short in the camera, maybe it should also get hot ?
