EOS R Lens Stabilization causing stutter in video

Amirgold

Looking for help with an issue I have never seen before with my other Canon DSLRs. If my EOS R is using a lens with stabilization and it’s turned on and using a slider or monopod, I would get a stutter in my video, almost like it needs to buffer or catch up. If I turn stabilization off it doesn’t happen. Is there a setting on my camera I need to do? Anyone else seeing this?

If you are using a sufficiently steady platform, you should probably turn IS off anyway. IS does not do well with DC inputs.

Is this an EOS R thing? I have never had this issue with my Mark 3 and Mark 4. What is DC?

Direct current, low frequency inputs. Most lenses turn off the IS automatically in those situations, maybe the R is different that way.
