EOS 7D Cannot Remove Lens

I put my 50mm Canon 1.8 on the body and now I cannot remove it.  I can press the release and the lens only turns about 1/3 towards the top.  

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a loose screw head, or some other object is blocking the rotation.  However, the lens does not make a full rotation.  Only make 1/3 of a turn almost sounds normal.  Or, do you mean it does not fully turn far enough to be unseated?

Sounds as though it probably needs repair. Forcing it could damage both the lens and the camera body. If you end up having to sacrifice one to save the other, I'd think the lens would be the more expendable.

When was the camera dropped?  You definitely need to get it serviced.
