EOS 5D Mark IV grayed out AEB

I am not able to set the Exposure Bracketing on my relatively new 5D Mark IV. In both locations (Menu, tab 2 and Function screen) The screens only have settings for Exposure Compensation. The AEB icon is greyed out and no range scale is visible for it. What can be causing this? Thanks so much for any help.

I'm using these settings:

Bracketing sequence -0+

Number of bracked shots 3

Drive Mode: Low speed continuous

All lens aberration correction are OFF

ISO speed setting is AUTO

Multiple exposure setting is ON

Silent LV shoot Disable

Firmware 1.3.3

Camera was purchased new from Canon Authoirzed Dealer on Amazon.

I have it registered w Canon.

What camera mode are you in?

Is the MultiFunction Dial lock button engaged?

Hi and thanks for the reply.

It does not work in any camera mode I set. In Av, Tv, or P, the AEB icon is still grey and no range scale is showing.

With Multi Function Dial lock engaged or not, either way AEB remains grey.

I havent played too much with the camera setting, but think somehow hit a setting that is causing this.

Just cant figure out what it is.

Any other ideas are appreciated 🙂

Did you try setting a definite ISO rather than Auto. Since Auto ISO function is to always target correct exposure it might conflict with AEB which wants to overexposeand underexpose.

Ok, think I stumbled over my error. I did see in the manual (and online) that AEB cannot be used with flash, bulb...

I did have my strobe wireless trigger attached on the camera, but it is switched OFF.

When I remove the trigger from the camera, AEB icon and range become accessable.

I had tried setting the ISO earlier too. Thank you for your time and insights!
