Download from 6D Mark II to iPad Pro via WiFi

Davoud

I'm trying to figure out why it is that when I take a full-res raw image—6240 x 4160—and download it to the newest iPad Pro over WiFi via the Canon Camera Connect App it comes in as a full-resolution raw photo with EXIF intact (visible in the Canon app), yet when I save it to Apple's Photos App as a step to getting it into Lightroom CC for iOS I end up with a 2400x1600 jpg. And that's also what I get when I import it into Lightroom for iOS (premium, part of my Adobe Photography plan subscription). My first thought is that I'm missing a setting or switch someplace, but I'm damned if I can find it in the Canon app, Apple's Photos App, or Lightroom CC. iOS and all apps are up-to-date. Advice most welcome! Thanks!

Here’s what the app description says in App Store

Thanks very much for taking time to reply. Of course I coulda shoulda found that myself.

I have to wonder what Canon is thinking, making toy software to deal with pro cameras. Back in the day when iOS devices had little RAM that might have made sense, but my iPad Pro has a terabyte, plenty for a couple of days of shooting.

I did learn that one can transfer the full-resolution image, but only in JPEG. One has to turn on RAW + best JPEG in camera settings, then a full-res JPEG will transrer.

For some reason I'm having trouble making Cascable work with this camera/iPad combinaiton. I may visit the retail Apple Store to see if they have an SD card reader for the newest iPad (new connector, so the older reader doesn't work).

Once again, thanks for your time.

Thanks again! I don’t really have time to go to the Apple Store, but it looks like I’m going anyway. :>)
