I want to set the default timeout (which is now about 4-6 seconds) that the status line at the bottom of the viewfinder display stays on. It's too short, and sometimes it times out beforeI can set it. I would have thought that this was the Metering Timer, but that has to do with LiveView, rather than normal picture taking and does change the timeout duration

I have a gold level Canon Professional Services membership and so contacted CPS. I was cheerfully told that the duration is not adjustable and asked for that to be made adjustable. Rats.
