Canon LCD display

Hello, I just noticed last night that while taking pictures from my Canon 5D Mark I, the LCD display is showing a couple of blue lines, top and bottom, please see picture attached.

I don't know what I did but this is the first tie I'm seeing this.

Can anyone help me or let me know how to clear these lines.

Thank you for your assistance and guidence.

What are you looking at? A Photo or Video? It looks like the aspect ratio has been changed, so the LCD is letterboxed.

Thank you for the reply. Working on photod only. How I can fix it?

Do you have a different aspect ratio set? Set it back to 3:2.

(If you are not sure, tell us the pixel dimension of the image)

Sorry for my ignorance but I don't know if I have a different aspect ratio and I don't know how to set it back to 3:2. Just shooting in RAW

Quoted from a help post for a 7D mark II.

"You've probably enabled the the aspect ratio info in the custom functions. Go to C.FN IV function 4 and select OFF.

Press the menu button, go to the next to the last menu on the right with the selection stick, then use the back wheel to move down to C.Fn IV Operations/Others and then press set. If the top selection (off) is not highlighted then that is you problem. Press the set button again, use the back wheel to select it, then press set again."

Go into your menu system and see if you have a similar setting.

The menu on the Canon %D is totally different than the 7D Mark II.

I cannot locate a function to change the aspect ratio.

It sounds as though you don't have an instruction manual. You can download one from Canon's Web site.

That said, I'm not 100% certain that the Mark I even has an aspect ratio setting. But if it does, the instruction manual should tell you.

What shooting mode is the camera in?  The Basic shooting modes limit the menu options.  Set the camera to P, Av, Tv, or M shooting mode, and take another look.

You could always just clear all camera functions and it will reset camera back to factory settings. Then if you still see the blue lines it might indicate a camera malfunction.
