Canon Connect App

I've connected my iPhone to my canon 5d mark 4 and using in video mode. Essentially using my phone as a viewfinder.

There is some considerable lag time. Am I better off buying a professeion viewfinder / monitor instead? Wondering if it's the wifi not able to handle the transmission. Maybe there is a way to down-res the picture to the app so it can handle the load?

Hello Booncroft, 

You may wish to try a lower resolution video on the EOS 5D Mark IV to see if this makes a difference.  If you needed an additional monitor or viewfinder that's always an option that you can add on later to the system.
