Canon BR-E1 Remote for R

Wandalynn

I'm interested in buying a remote for my R, and the one listed in the manual is BR-E1, which is Bluetooth technology. Is it true that, unlike the infrared remotes, this one can trigger the camera from anywhere around the camera, not just in the front?

Yes, the BR-E1 will have 360 degree triggering functionality.

Yes, it doesn't have sight-limit like IR remote. You can also use your smartphone to trigger it. I find a smartphone is better because you can choose focus, change shooting info, etc. and free.

Re using a smartphone...is that the EOS Utility or another app?

Canon Camera Connect

OK, thanks.
