Canon 1DX Mk II Problems: How to kill the battery in one easy step.

Hi,

Have your 1DX2. Just pull out any card(s) you have in camera. Just leave the camera in Auto-Off mode (do NOT turn it off from the on/off switch).

Check again in few (two?) days.

Expected:

Battery = alive.

Actual:

Battery = dead

(...or heavily drained out)

IIRC also 5D3 has/had this problem...

I think that a firmware update can fix/enhance this thing.

TIA for the fix 🙂

my 2c & HTH,

John Th.

Disable the internal GPS when not using the camera.  Problem solved.

GPS is always disabled. Problem is NOT solved. 🙂

In that case, I suggest that you turn the camera fully OFF.  Standby mode consumes power, too.

Seems like a bug. Call Canon at 1-800-OK-CANON.
