5d MkIII Shooting sports and the settings you use?

Waytoomuch

Ok, so I finally did it. shhhh don't tell my wife.

Yea, I pulled the trigger and let the giant moths out of my wallet and bought the MkIII !  I currently have a 7d and have been happy with it but just needed a new toy. Anyone out there relate? I basically shoot softball, Soccer and occasionally basketball. Here's my question to all you current 5dIII users. With this very accurate and sophisticated focus system what settings have you found works well for the sports you shoot? Softball starts March 8th and I can't wait to flex these new muscles!

Thx, I appreciate all your feedback

Check out Canon's guide book on the focus system -- it's fairly advanced and should help.

Whenever I do faster subjects I generally use Av. That way the camera will select to fastest shutter that can be had without you doing any thinking.

I think it will do very well on Auto AF Point, to tell you the truth. For more precise control I use center point with 8 assist points, case 1 for sports, case 2 for BIF, case 5 for bees. AI Servo focus mode of course.
