5d Mark IV GPS DATA: Need Directional heading (in degrees)

Hi All,

I'm working on project in which it is critical to record the direction the camera is facing (in degrees).  Lightroom only seems to show me latitude, longitude, and altitude.  Is there any way to determine the bearing from the built in GPS unit?

Thanks!

Maybe the Canon Map Utility would do this?

AFAIK, the camera has only GPS, which can only get you a heading when it is moving. It would need a compass to get heading info.

If it works anything like the 6D, then it does not have direction.  However, the Canon GPS Receiver GP-E2 does have a compass.  I do not know if it is compatible with the 5D4.

Are you sure the Digital Compass was enabled and calibrated?

The following is for the Digital Compass in the 7D Mk II, but, I assume the one in the 5D Mk IV works similarly.

Using the Digital Compass (EOS 7D Mark II)
