Canon EOS Webcam Utiltiy Pro will not install on Windows 11 Pro

I've got Windows 11 Pro on my home system and tried to install the Canon EOS Webcam Utility Pro software (from HERE ). The installation wa unsuccessful because my version of C++ was newer than the Canon software recognized. I don't want to have to uninstall/downgrade my software to allow for the installation (and if I did, I'd suspect the next Windows Update might re-update that and make it quit working again).

So is there a workaround for this, or is there a new version of the Canon Webcam Utility anticipated soon?

I need the ability to use the camera with the computer, but either need a workaround or an update to make it compatible.
Anyone else run into this and know how to make it work?

Greetings,

This is unexpected since later versions of C++ should be backwards compatible.

Visit Programs and Features.  Note the version of C++ you have installed.  Now uninstall your existing version.  Then restart.

Now run this.

Download Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 from Official Microsoft Download Center https://share.google/8tgdgriCt4geHpzmz

Restart again and run the Webcam Utility Pro Installer.  . Please post your results.

I agree with Rick.  It should be backwards compatible.  Something could be out of order with the installation.

See this service note posted on Canon's site.

Their proposed solution did not work for me.  I wasn't able to get the webcam utility installed using their special C++ installers.  They say a fix is in the works...
