It is hard to keep up with all the variations Canon makes and I don't have a Rebel T5 but I believe it has a built-in keep alive battery.  So, time, is the only way to completely do a reset besides what is on the Menu.

Take the main battery out and let it sit.  May take a month or two.  Maybe someone that owns a T5 will correct me.

Hi tahoofoo!

Thanks for posting.

To reset your camera to the defaults:

  1. Press MENU.
  2. Select the [Tools #3] tab.
  3. Select [Clear Settings].
  4. Select [Clear All Camera Settings].
  5. Select [Ok] to confirm.

I can't find the option clear settings. I searched for it everywhere.
I am sorry if there are grammar mistakes but i'm still learning how to speak english.

Hi, ms01!

The available menu options will vary depending on which mode you're in.  To find the option to clear all settings as described above, make sure your camera is in one of the modes represented by letters, such as P, Tv, Av, or M.  Once you've done that, follow the instructions above and you should be able to reset your camera back to its factory defaults.

Hope this helps!
