Photographing pixel size 6500X6500??

Hello,

I am an artist new to selling my artwork online. The website I am using to sell suggests a minimum pixel size of 6500X6500 to enable high quality prints and other products containing my artwork. There are no options available on the camera itself to shoot in that setting. Consequently, my artwork is only available on smaller products that don't require such a large photo file. What am I doing wrong? The largest upload I have is 6000 by 4000 pixels. How are other artists getting their images to such high pixel counts?

Help!

What software are you using? It should have an export feature that allows resizing of your image.

I use photoshop elements. But if I resize it, it stretches the image and compromises the quality.

Are you resizing to 6500x6500?

You should resize to 6500x4333. That will maintain your aspect ratio.

Are you exporting to JPEG?  What quality setting?

Thank you SO much. I had no idea this would preserve the image quality. I export to JPEG at the highest quality setting. I just tried it and my artwork looks great.

Thanks again!

6500x6500  would be square.  And you have a rectangle piece of art work, that is why you got the distortion.
