Sound like you have your camera in Raw + L which makes 2 files when you take a photo.

Canon EOS Rebel T6i / 18-55mm IS STM

How do I change that setting? Thanks

Hit the Q button and scroll to where it says L+RAW, hit select and change it to what you want.

I think I have it figured out. Thanks. have a good day !!!

I have found the Q button but can't click on it. I have changed Raw L to Raw but still get two images .

On the cameras with which I'm familiar, there are two settings displayed on the screen: one for the RAW image, the other for the JPEG image. If you want only the RAW image, the RAW setting should be set to RAW, and the JPEG setting should be set to "—".

For rebels it is one setting RAW+JPEG.

Where are you seeing these two files? Are they in the camera, too?
