EOS Rebel T6 and macOS Big Sur

If you have an EOS Rebel T6, and your OS is macOS Big Sur, it will NOT send data to the computer through the USB cable. The online update does NOT work. I worked with the canon rep on the phone, and we finally agreed I had to call Apple. I did, and you can guess what Apple ultimately told me: It's on Canon. I would prefer to get it to work and not have to get a data card. Any ideas?

Your best bet is just to get a card reader.  They are not too expensive.

Double check though if your Mac has an SD card slot already.

It works great on my T6S with an MBA and Big Sur. Do you have an M1?

The usual reasons for this:

You have wifi on in the camera. The camera can only do one at a time.

You are using a Charging or just bad USB cable. (Charging only USB cables are the work of the devil.)

You need to plug the camera in and run Image Capture directly.
