I've been using this camera since 2014 and this has just recently started. Every other or every 4 - 5 images will capture with a yellow shodow/gradient across the top of the image. Any ideas what's happening here?

Are these RAWS or jpegs?

Artificial light flicker. What type of artificial lighting was being used in that room? I am willing to bet that it is neither incandescent, nor flourescent. Your camera has not changed. The type of artifical lighting has changed.
Many of Canon's current DSLRs contain smarts to compensate for artificial light flicker.
