I currently have a rebel T3i 18-55. I want to a have my video to have that film look. I'm filming my friend working out at the soccer field, mainly doing training video to upload on facebook and instagram. What would be the best setting for my camera for this. I honestly dont want to purchase an expensive camera.

And also I have an Adobe Element 11.

What is "that film look"?

I would like it to have that hardknocks look film on HBO or a nike or underarmor commercial look. Could it be done with my camera or with my adobe element 11.

What are the right settings?

I have no idea what effects you're looking for, but I suspect that it could be filtering on the lenses.

Photoshop Elements 11 is too outdated, and it cannot edit video clips.  I would advise that you upgrade to Adobe Photoshop Elements 15 and Premiere Elements 15.  Premiere is the video package.  You should be able to buy it 40% off list.
