Canon t5I---please help with what memory cards to use---was sold a UHS 700x that says 120MB/sec!

EXACTLY what memory card should I be using in a new Canon Rebel T5i---there is "TOO MUCH ADVICE" out there!

I have a SanDisk I was going to use that says SDHC--UHS-1 16 GB up to 80 MB/s 533x.  I have another that says UHS Professional 700X-Ultra HD 4K---120B/sec!   I DO NOT shoot any videos or RAW....just regular shots, animals moving, family, jpegs.

Should I be using those that say 40-45 MG/S?  Can you use a TOO FAST memory card and can it DAMAGE you camera if you do?  I have a lot to learn for sure.  Thanks.

SDHC 16GB is fine for your intended use.

Faster/higher capacity card will not damage camera.

When in doubt, it is always best to revert back to your manual.  Page 31 and also page 48 and 49.

Either or both of the SD cards you have will work.  Read the page on formating the card. (page 48)
