Canon Rebel T6 Exposure Bar Error

Hey, guys. Every time I use my camera on manual mode, I can't adjust my exposure bar [the bar that goes from -5 to +5 or whatever number it goes to] with the radial switch. All of my photos are underexposed. Any suggestions

You aren't missing much. Just set the exposure where exposure compensation would set it.

So, why is it that my T5 allows me to set exposure compensation.  Like I said, you cannot setup Automatic Exposure Bracketing, but I can still set up exposure compensation.  I can set exposure compensation in <M> mode with every camera body I own.

I just pulled out my T5.  I take that back.  I've got it backwards.  You can do AEB, but not compensation.

I think you need to learn about the "Exposure Triangle", as well as how to adjust ISO, Aperture, Including Shutter Speed, on your camera.  Instead of using "M" mode, try using "P" mode and using the Quick Menu screen to adjust exposure settings.

Hi,

The exposure meter in the viewfinder?

The bar just tells you if your combination of shutter speed, aperture (FF/number) and ISO settings are giving you a correct exposure, or whether your current combo would give you an incorrect (over or under) exposure.

You don't adjust the bar to fix the picture; you adjust one of the 3 variables, to give the camera more or less light, until the bar shows you have set a correct exposure.
