I shot a few images with my 7D and noticed during playback the monitor had multiple vertical white lines on the lcd screen. When I zoomed the image in, the lines disappeared. I have not downloaded the images to my computer yet. The lines do not appear in the viewfinder. Any thoughts on what is causing the lines to appear on the playback monitor?

Interlacing. Your display is in interlaced mode. That image looks "up-converted" to me.
What sort of connection do you have to your external monitor?
[EDIT] You may find limited help with your 3rd party, external monitor on a camera forum.

It is the camera's LCD screen that is displaying the white lines, not an external monitor.

Download the images from your camera. Check to see if they appear in videos and/or photos.
