Why doesn't my T2i record sound with the video

When I download my video to my computer, I get good picture, but no sound. Am I missing  a simple step or something?

Not quite enough information.  If you are using an external microphone, check the connction and the mic switch.  If not, then the internal microphone may be on the blink, and it may be time for service or a new camera.

Actually, I figured it out. It was stupid simple and stupid of me not to check this first. When I went into the video menu, the sound recording was switched off. Duh.
