Exactly. Forget about shutter count. There is nothing you can do about when it may fail, no more than you can change the weather. An older shutter may go on for years. A newly replaced shutter may fail after a few months.
The “shutter life expectancy” specification that Canon publishes is not a hard line rule. It is an average of performance for a high percentage [>90%] of all camera bodies. Some bodies last shorter than that figure, exactly that long, or go on for much longer.
