What brand speed class SD card are you using? Have you tried different cards that have been formatted using your camera?

Hi Bobakman, thanks for your response. The card is a Sandisk Ultra 30
MB/s c10 SDXC I 64Gb. It was brand new and to my knowledge formatted by the T4i.

Format the card yourself in the camera doing a full format and try shooting the video again if the outcome is the same try a totally different card first formatting it in the camera as well and see how it goes.
BTW there are some counterfiet Cards out there so I always purchase mine from a reputable source. I never buy them on Ebay unless they are from a known seller like B&H etc.

Thank you Bob. I have used both regular format and low level format. I now need to take a video and download it. I will let you know.

Hi Bob, thanks for the follow up. No the reformatting did not help. The card was purchased at the Canon retailer (FutureShop part of Bestbuy). Its been a year (I had not tested for many months and first thought I was getting settings wrong) so the retailer will unlikely help in any way.

So it appears that the SD card may be at fault. Did you get a chance to try a different card?

Hi Bob,

I need to get back down to the dealer to buy another card. Not sure when that will be. Sadly, The local specialist camera shop just closed down.
