Both of my cameras work fine in Live View, but not in normal viewfinder mode. And the Customs settings work fine. Is the shutter damaged ?

Reset them to factory. Clear all settings in the menu under Tools.

As stated clear all settings and clear all custom functions as well

My Canon 5D Mk II and my Canon 7D will not work in Av or Sv, but will work if I put it in Live View.
