Is it a universal cord or is there something special about it? I have a xbox charger cord that looks and fits the socket but I don't know if it's the right prong size.

Thank You
The information you gave me worked fine. I plugged the cord that fit in the canon charger and charged the battery. Then put the battery in the camera and turned it on. WORKED FINE
Thank you

Universal. I use the cord from my 1D for both chargers.

There are two cords. One has both ends of the plug-in rounded. The other has one round and one square. It is polarized. It will not fit the wrong charger and neither will the other. If yours fits, it will work.
